Reel Escape is presently located in Huatulco Mexico.
Reel Escape has been set up as a very comfortable day boat to accommodate up to 6 anglers and a crew of 3, but kept simple enough to be very easy to maintain.
In addition to the seating on the engine boxes facing aft, there are two bench seats 7’ long in front of the engine box seats. In 2000/2001 this boat was stripped to the bare hull and all new components were put in.
The boat was also professionally rewired in 2001. In 2003 the engines were replaced with Cummins 300hp 6bta’s, and the decks and side panels replaced with a set from Cabrera’s.
The boat also has a very large in transom insulated fishbox/livewell. The hardtop Marlin tower was built in 2000, and has a cored top. The upper station of the tower is also set up to be detachable and sit in the cockpit for trailering of the vessel.
The Strata Glass side curtains fold up and attach to the hardtop for maximum airflow on nice days. Reel Escape has tower mount lee outriggers and Birdsall teaser reels. The upper control station has a spray shield made of strata glass, and a cover for the complete pod to keep everything clean after use.
The cockpit also has a Stamoid cover to keep the decks clean and water out during periods of non use. There is a rocket launcher with cover in the cockpit with a bait prep section and drawer.
Only the best of materials were used in the original refurbishment and the ongoing maintenance of the vessel.
