Guatemala December 27

By Captain Jonothan Nicholas | Tue, 8 Jan 2008

The Gang was back all excited for their final day on the water here in beautiful Guatemala.  After the previous day what could we expect, you guessed it nothing.   The fish had moved and though we  dragged teasers around all morning in hope of snagging one on the fly, hopes began to dwindle.   Could this be due to the party from the night before or the fishing?   The storry does not end there, as is typical when chasing sailfish in Guatemala, after finally releasing one on the fly we all decided to switch back to conventional tackle, and oh boy hear came the sailfish.  We ended up raising 43 sailfish, getting 35 bites and releasing 27 and one on the Fly.  Total on the Relentless for two days fishing was 69 Sailfish released for 104 bites and an incredible 130 Sails behind the boat.
